Catherine's Story

Meet Catherine - Your Gentle Giant with a Playful Spirit!

At 7 years old, Catherine is the perfect blend of maturity and fun. Don’t let her age fool you - this beautiful girl still loves going for walks and stretching her long legs in the backyard. She has plenty of pep left and would thrive with a family who enjoys light adventures and outdoor time.

Catherine is the definition of a “Velcro” Great Dane; she absolutely adores people and wants to be by your side as much as possible. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will follow you from room to room and shower you with love, she’s your girl.

She has met both male and female dogs and has done well with them. While she has been around cats, she thinks they’re a little too fun to chase, so a cat-free home would be best for everyone’s peace of mind.

Catherine walks nicely on a leash and knows her basic commands. She is house-trained and can be trusted out of a crate while you’re away. We do recommend giving her a good walk before leaving the house so she’s relaxed and content while you’re out. Like many clever pups, she has a fondness for people food and has been known to counter surf or investigate the trash, but her foster family is working on those habits, and she’s making progress. (This girl just really loves snacks!)

Catherine is fully ready for her forever home. She is:
- Spayed
- Up to date on vaccinations
- Negative for parasites and heartworms
- Cleared for adoption following removal of a low-grade tumor

Kentucky Great Dane Rescue's Adoption Policy
When you adopt a Great Dane, you get an appreciative best friend for the duration of your Dane's life. As a breed in general they are loyal, intelligent and very loving. Great Dane care is not overwhelming, yet every aspect of your dog's life depends on you. Making a decision to own a dog, especially a Great Dane, is a serious responsibility that should be considered. Fortunately, our Danes have helped us get it right over the years and asked that we pay it forward:) It is common knowledge that caring for a dog requires shelter, food, water, grooming and veterinary care. Understand that with a Great Dane, these tangible requirements are greater than a canine of a smaller size. How big are Great Danes really? Good question, have a look at our Great Dane growth chart for a comparison of age, weight, and height.
