Casper's Story

Meet Casper

Casper is a 3 year old Australian Shepherd mix. He is ready to find his furever family!

Casper is up to date on all vaccines, deworming, prevention, and is neutered. He is ready to go home! Casper was originally adopted from us as a puppy back in 2023. We don't know the whole story, but we're told he's been through a lot since then. From what we know, for a while he was in a loving home, but after his adopters got divorced, he ended up at Warrick County Animal Control months later. One of the adopters found out and took him in but was unable to keep him long term. He was noted to be severely underweight, filthy, and flinching. He spent the past month recovering in her home and she said he is house trained, crate trained, leash trained, and rides well in a car. He does good with all people, kids, cats, and other dogs! He knows how to sit and spin, loves plush toys and balls, and has a super sweet and hyper personality. He has recovered remarkably quickly from whatever negative experience he went through and although he can still be a little nervous/flinching, all in all he is back to being a loving and social guy! He deserves to find a loving, stable home to spend the rest of his life in.

If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an adoption application on our website, warrickhumanesociety.org/adoption. Applications will be reviewed in the order they are received. We are open Wed-Thu 12-7 and Fri-Sun 12-4 if you'd like to come visit!

Want to get early access to adoptable pets, seeing them before they're posted on Facebook? Warrick Humane Society's Adoption Policy
The Warrick Humane Society is a no-kill organization. Once an animal is rescued by WHS, it is saved for life. We will not release an animal to another organization that has a policy of euthanasia. In addition, we will only place animals with qualified prospective owners. We do not adopt out dogs or cats that will be kept outside. We only want loving indoor homes for our pets. We do thorough checks on all of our potential adopters before sending them to their fur-ever home. We also require that if you adopt a pet from us and are no longer able to keep it that it be returned to us, so that we can find it a new home.
