Cash's Story

Cash spent his life doing exactly what he was bred for- hunting raccoons, and doing it well. He knows his commands, both the basic kind and the working kind. He's crate trained, easy with strangers, and gets along fine with other dogs.

A couple months ago, things took a scary turn- a beaver hole, a stuck collar, a couple days that shouldn't have happened. But that's behind him now. Cash has since been fully vetted, worked up, and given a clean bill of health. Turns out underneath all that worry was just a very good boy who wanted a family a lot more than he wanted a job.

These days Cash is happy, sweet, and endlessly interested in attention- the kind of dog who leans into a scratch like it's the whole point of the day. He's ready for his next home, whether that's a foster or his forever family.

helplesshounds.com/foster
helplesshounds.com/adoption

Helpless Hounds Dog Rescue's Adoption Policy
For a complete list of our adoption criteria, please visit: https://www.helplesshounds.com/faqs NOTE: You must complete and submit an application and be approved to adopt prior to being able to meet the dog. We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We always try to select the right applicant for each dog, based on the dog’s needs and try to find the best match for both dog and human. We leave a dog’s profile online until either it has been adopted, or has received several applications. We are a non-profit organization that spends our adoption fees and donations on vaccinations, surgeries, various medical tests, medicines, food and supplies needed by our dogs. Our fees do not cover the overall expenses incurred by the care of our dogs, but they do help defray the costs involved. We thank you for your support.
