Casey's Story

Casey is a 12 year old female white & tan Jack Russell terrier. She is 14 inches tall at the shoulder and needs to lose at least EIGHT pounds from her current 27 pound weight.
Casey came from a zero exercise environment where she also lacked social interactions and life experience. She is loving her foster care home where she has been able to travel, meet lots of new folks and situations, and - best of all - go for long long sniff walks.
Casey is rock-solid house trained and walks well on leash. She does have some separation anxiety (vocal) and does best if crated if you need to leave her alone at home. She is not a huge fan of being crated but does cooperate with her humans.
Casey would do best as an only dog, but she would also do alright with another easygoing neutered male companion. No female dogs, please. Casey needs a few minutes with new humans and does best with other dogs if they can go for a walk together first - then she is good to go! Casey is a terrific car traveler and loves going on road trips with her foster mum.
We are looking for a quiet home with lots of walking time and patient humans. Maybe one other non-reactive male canine friend and a STRICT enforced diet to help Casey lose those extra pounds!
NO apartments or condos, please. NO cats.
Casey is in foster care in the Boise area. Her adoption fee is $100.

Jack Russell Rescue Oregon Washington & Idaho's Adoption Policy
We require an approved application before setting up a meet with any of our dogs. In most cases, secure fencing is a must - exceptions may be made for certain "Velcro" dogs and isolated rural properties, or for urban adopters who run daily. Except for certain dogs, no kids under the age of 6 is our rule of thumb, but it depends again on the dog and on the kids. We have a 2 to 3 week trial adoption period for all our dogs - we want everyone to be happy - and we back our dogs up for their lifetimes. Thank you for thinking of a rescue Jack!
