He's a 10-week-old Jack Russel Terrier mix, weighing 13 pounds (as of 6/5/26). Poor Caramelo was rescued at 4 weeks old. He survived in the streets of Puerto Rico without his mother after he was abandoned inside a box. This sweet pup had a rough beginning, but he's moving on up from a cardboard box to a mansion! Just call him the Fresh Prince of New England!

Noble, humble, and bound to be everyone's favorite, Caramelo is a sweetheart among pups everywhere! He's very playful around other dogs and is incredibly friendly around strangers. In fact, he'll even show them some magic tricks he learned on the streets. Pick a card, any card! This boy has never met children but his rescuers believe he'd do great with them since he's so gentle. He hasn't been exposed to cats but maybe one day!

He currently lives in boarding at the vet, so Caramelo asks that you give him all the love and patience as he masters puppy training since he's never lived in a home. He does good inside a crate and has done good with a leash too.

This beautiful boy will steal your heart in no time! The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application.
