Capri 's Story

If there were a professional sport for lounging, I would already have several championship titles and a commemorative blanket with my name on it. Hi. I’m Capri. From the Sunshine Getaway Litter. Which sounds very glamorous, and frankly, I feel I represent the brand extremely well. My hobbies include chewing on toys like a responsible puppy citizen, supervising the couch, and demonstrating the ancient art of the strategic nap. People keep using words like chill, mellow, and couch potato. I prefer to think of myself as emotionally stable with excellent work-life balance. Sure, I’ll play. I’ll chew on my toys. I’ll do adorable puppy things. But I also believe strongly in rest, relaxation, and making sure someone is always available to admire how cute I look while sleeping. And really… isn’t that what most people end up doing on vacation anyway...napping? 😉

Capri here, professional vacation enthusiast and full-time expert in the fine art of relaxing. I’m an 11-week-old, 19lb female Great Pyrenees / Golden Retriever mix, which basically means I was built with two important life skills: being extremely adorable and taking my comfort very seriously. I came into rescue after my siblings and I found ourselves needing somewhere safe to land. Thankfully some very kind humans stepped in and reached out to the PPFT Fluffy Butt Program, and just like that… I checked into my foster home like a tiny, fluffy guest at an all-inclusive resort.

How do I get along with other dogs? Oh, wonderfully. I consider myself a very collaborative learner. Some might say I run a “watch and copy” program. My foster siblings demonstrate how things work, and I simply… absorb the information. Efficient. Smart. No need to reinvent the wheel when another dog has already figured out where the good nap spots are. So yes — I do great with other dogs. I learn from them, I follow their lead, and together we maintain a highly organized system of group confidence, shared exploration, and synchronized napping. Honestly, it’s a very supportive workplace environment. 🐾How do I do with cats? Ah yes, the mysterious tiny house lions. At this time, my official stance is: to be determined. Have I been around kids? Yes. I have personally observed the tiny human species in the age ranges of 7, 4, and 2 years old. Very energetic group. Lots of noise. Very enthusiastic about life. Now, when I first meet new people (kids included), I do prefer to run my standard “give me a minute to process this” protocol. I might hang back for a little bit and observe the situation like a tiny fluffy scientist collecting data. But once I determine that everyone is friendly, I warm up just fine. So yes, I would do great in a home with kids. Just give me a little time to say, “Okay, these are my people now,” and then we’ll be good to go.

Energy Level: 5 out of 10. Right in the middle. Perfectly balanced. A true professional at moderation. I enjoy playing with toys, wandering around the yard, and doing normal puppy activities… but I also strongly believe in rest, recovery, and scheduled nap breaks. You know, the important parts of life. Think of me as the friend who will happily go on the adventure… but also fully supports returning home afterward to snacks and a very solid nap. How do I do on a leash? Very well, thank you for asking. My leash training career is going quite successfully. I walk nicely, I pay attention, and I’ve discovered that if my foster siblings are walking too, everything makes even more sense. I simply observe the professionals and follow their lead. Why struggle through life when you can just watch the experienced dogs and copy their homework? Adventure seeker or homebody? At this stage of my life, I would describe myself as a homebody with very strong feelings about sleep. I love the couch. I love naps. I love the kind of deep, committed sleeping that requires absolutely no interruptions. Some puppies dream of scaling mountains and embarking on grand adventures. I dream of the perfect nap location and maybe a toy nearby. Now, could I become more adventurous as I get older and find my forever people? Absolutely. Once I have my humans and my confidence grows, I can definitely see myself exploring the world a little more. How would I describe my overall temperament? I mean… I don’t want to brag, but if someone were designing the blueprint for a very pleasant puppy experience, I feel like they might end up describing me. You could say I’m the kind of puppy who brings calm, cozy vibes wherever I go. I’m sweet, easygoing, and generally very happy to just exist near my people, chew a toy, and then immediately fall asleep like it was an exhausting accomplishment. In conclusion: excellent temperament, strong nap game, and overall a very good puppy if I do say so myself.

Would I thrive best with a fenced yard, or could I do apartment life with leash walks? Listen… while I fully support the concept of walks, I would really prefer to have my own personal outdoor lounge area — also known as a fenced yard. So ideally, I’m looking for a home with a secure fenced yard where I can run, play, and then immediately return to my regularly scheduled program of relaxation and grass-based lounging. House manners? Excellent question. As an 11-week-old puppy, I would like to remind everyone that I am still in my early professional development phase. Which means my future family will need to come prepared with the usual puppy starter kit: patience, consistency, snacks (for me), and a solid sense of humor. There will also need to be some puppy-proofing involved. Because small fluffy scientists like myself tend to explore the world with curiosity, optimism, and occasionally our mouths. If something looks interesting and happens to be at nose level, I may feel it is my duty to conduct a brief quality inspection. I’m doing great learning the ropes, but my new humans should absolutely plan on continuing the important things like potty training, socialization, and basic training. You know, the standard “raise a well-adjusted member of society” curriculum. The good news is I’m smart, eager to learn, and already paying close attention to the dogs around me to figure out how things work. With a family who’s ready to guide me, teach me, and help me grow up properly, I will absolutely continue developing into the excellent dog I am clearly destined to be.

Now, here comes the slightly less glamorous part of the conversation. If you would like to bring this fluffy vacation enthusiast home, you will need to fill out an adoption application. Yes, paperwork. I know. But apparently the humans insist on reviewing applications so they can send them to my foster family and make sure I end up with the very best people. Once approved, you will also need to come pick me up in Piedmont, Oklahoma. I will not be mailing myself, teleporting, or arranging my own transportation. I am a puppy, not a travel agent. So go ahead — fill out that application at https://www.pyrpawsandfluffytailsrescue.com/adoption-app, impress the humans, and come meet your new favorite couch companion. I’ll be here practicing my naps and waiting for my forever family to show up.

Capri 🐾
