Canelita's Story

🐾 Meet Canelita! 🐾

This beautiful young Carolina Dog mix (our best guess!) is a medium-sized sweetheart who’s already overcome so much. At full grown, she is about 37 pounds, so an excellent sized pup!

Canelita is a distemper survivor and, while she occasionally has mild facial tremors, they don’t affect her quality of life at all. She’s otherwise happy, healthy, and ready to enjoy everything she’s been missing. 💛

At just 2 years old, Canelita has so much life and love to give. She’s wonderful with kids, cats, and other dogs—making her an easy addition to almost any family.

After such a rough start, Canelita deserves the second chance she’s been waiting for—a home where she can finally live the life she was meant to live. 🏡💕

🚐 Transport Available! Sanctuary Park Rescue's Adoption Policy
All potential adopters are required to complete a detailed adoption application. Applications are reviewed to ensure the dog is a good match for the adopter’s lifestyle, experience level, home environment, and other pets. We conduct reference checks, including veterinary references (if applicable), and verify that current and past pets are up to date on vaccinations and heartworm prevention. Landlord approval is required for renters. A home check (virtual or in-person) may be conducted when appropriate. Adopters must agree to provide proper veterinary care, keep the dog as an indoor companion, maintain heartworm prevention, and return the dog to Sanctuary Park Rescue if they are ever unable to keep the animal. All adoptions require a signed adoption contract and an adoption fee to help offset medical expenses. Our goal is to ensure safe, responsible, and permanent placements that prioritize the long-term wellbeing of each dog.
