CANDY! We are so excited to list her as she's really the perfect little dog!<br/><br/>***Candy is being fostered in NYC (Manhattan) and is ready for a meet & greet!***<br/><br/>She is 10.2 lbs and estimated to be around 3.5 years old. We think she's a long-haired Dachshund/maybe Chi mix (best guess but we really don't know for sure!). She has medium length hair and a beautiful long haired feathered tail.<br/><br/>Candy is a total sweetheart! She has a very nice demeanor. She is a smidge why with new people but the second the treat or food bag comes out, she temporarly forgets she's a little shy and is begging for a snack! She is gentle and will take treats slowly.<br/><br/>She is great with other dogs, all people and even cats too! She is currently being fostered in a home with 3 other dogs of various sizes and ages and gets along with all of them. She is not overbearing with them.<br/><br/>Candy is gentle and sweet and has the cutest little snaggle smile and underbite. She has a very nice demeanor and is respectful of other dogs. She is more on the submissive side and takes cues well if another dog doesn't want to engage with her.<br/><br/>She is quiet (haven't heard a bark yet), has no separation anxiety whatsoever, sleeps quietly on her bed throughout the night (not crated), does not destroy/get into anything and does not shed at all (that we have noticed). <br/><br/>She is completely wee wee pad trained and will always go on the pad if available to her.<br/><br/>She is just getting used to walking outside on a leash in NYC as that is new to her. She is taking it in stride, however!<br/><br/>She is incredibly easy and would be perfect for a first time dog owner.<br/><br/>Her story is that she was rescued several years ago as a young puppy from an elderly couple who couldn't care for her and her siblings anymore. This rescuer got her siblings adopted out locally in PR when they were very young and she decided to keep Candy herself. Only recently due to personal health circumstances has she decided to send Candy on to a better life. Candy has been loved and cared for her entire life and has only known love and is incredibly loving!<br/><br/>She is spayed, fully vaccinated, 4dx (heartworm) negative and fecal (parasites) negative. <br/><br/>Please note as well that any prospective adopter can do a FaceTime/virtual call with her foster if not local!<br/><br/>Please feel free to email us with any questions about her!
