Meet Candace
Sweet, calm, & loving Candace is ready to find her furever home with people that will continue to help her grow into a confidence lil beagle girl we know she is.
Candace came to HERO Hounds in April after a partner shelter found her as a stray with a bilateral inguinal hernia. We believe Candace may have been used for breeding prior to rescue due to her shy demeanor, lack of confidence and original uncertainty with human interactions.
Over the last month, Candace's foster parents have been working with her to boost her confidence and teach her how to be a fur baby. Candace now enjoys dog beds and couch cuddles (especially with her foster dog brother), she is starting to seek out her foster parents attention more, and she is beginning to show excitement for normal pup activities like people coming to the door and meal time.
While she is improving, Candace is still a shy girl who prefers a calmer house and the company of other chill pups. Candace would be a great companion for an older couple who want a calm fur baby to love on as she is already housetrained and does not get underfoot.
Candace is currently about 23lbs (probably should be closer to 20lbs) and 5-6 yrs old. If interested in Candace, please apply at HeroHoundRescue.org/adopt.
