Canaan Yellow Labrador Retriever Mix Springfield, MO

It's a great day to be alive!!! My name is Canaan. I am a 3-ish-year-old, 60-pound, Yellow Lab mix guy. I spent 50 whole days cooped up in a kennel at Springfield Animal Control, and was 1 day away from being euthanized when the nice folks at Rescue One swooped in and saved me. PHEW! I am house broken and do pretty well on a leash. I don't much care for being in a crate (can you blame me?), but I will tolerate it. I get along great with other dogs and dog savvy cats! I love kiddos, but might accidentally knock little bitties down, so bigger kids are probably best in my forever home. My home needs a fenced yard for me to run and play in. Another dog to hang out with would be nice too, but I would be okay as an only dog if I get plenty of attention from my people. I might even be a good companion for a truck driver. I would love to be able to go with my people to dog-friendly places as often as possible. I'm betting I would make a great hiking and/or camping buddy. Do I seem like a good fit for your family?
