CAMILIA's Story
Hola! My name is CAMILIA and here is some info about me:

PHYSICAL INFO:

Breed: Foxhound Mix (best guess!)
Age: Approximately 6 years old (Est. DOB: June 2020)
Gender: Female
Weight: 45.8 lbs (22 kg)
Height: 65 cm (paws to top of my head); 45 cm (paws to shoudlers)
Length: 74 cm (head to butt)
Neck: 30 cm
Chest: 60 cm
Current Location: MEXICO CITY

RESCUE STORY – My previous owner rescued me from somewhere off the street in or around Mexico City when I was about one year old. My owner then dropped me off at a dog boarding place. The workers at the boarding place noticed I had classic signs of malnutrition: I was underweight, weak, had a dull coat, and parasites. I was feeling pretty sad, tired, and low-energy at that time. And to top it all off, my owner never came back to pick me up.

The workers at the boarding place took me to the vet and started a protocol to help me gain weight. Slowly but surely, I made a full recovery! My coat brightened, I regained my puppy energy, and became the happy, loving girl I am today. Despite my tough start in life, the boarding place took such good care of me over the past few years and showed me what love and safety feel like. Now, I'm ready to find a home of my own with my furever family!

TEMPERAMENT – I'm a confident, affectionate pup who loves giving and receiving affection! My favourite pastime is snoozing with my human friends on a cozy bed or blanket. I have a gentle, calm energy, and would do well in a home either as the only dog or with other pups!

ENERGY LEVEL – Medium / Low. I'm very calm indoors and love my beauty sleep. That being said, I also enjoy going for walks where I can sniff everything around me!

GETS ALONG WITH:

Kids – Unknown.
Dogs – Yes. I've spent a lot of time with puppy friends over the last few years and love dogs of all shapes and sizes! I don't really like when my doggie friends try to take food from my plate (no sharesies, sorry!). Check out this video of me and my pals at dinner time!
Cats – Unknown.

PREY DRIVE - Unknown. I'm not too sure how I'll react around squirrels/rabbits etc., so my adopter needs to be prepared and willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise.

TRAINING:

Leash skills – Work in progress. I'm not reactive on my leash and don't mind cars passing while walking on a busy street. However, I could use some help improving my leash skills so I don't pull quite as much on my walks (what can I say, there are so many things out there to see and smell!). I will need an adopter who is happy to work with me on my leash manners. A well-fitted harness and some dedicated leash training will help set me up for success!
House trained – Work in progress. Frequent potty breaks and positive reinforcement will help me learn housetraining in my new home :)

Please Note: WCP highly encourages adopters to do some research and training on their own before their dog arrives.

HEALTH NOTES:

I am spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. I will come to Canada with proof of all my vaccines and test records.
I will be tested for Heartworm etc. before flying to Canada.
I had malnutrition when I was first rescued; however, I've made a full recovery, and the vet says I'm a healthy girl now!
NOTE: It is not uncommon for rescue dogs to require dental work/cleaning after they are adopted. West Coast Paws does not cover the costs of dental work and/or vet visits. These costs are the financial responsibility of the adopter.

ADOPTION FEE:

My adoption fee is $728.00 CAD including tax ($650.00 + 5% GST, 7% PST), which includes my airfare, if a flight volunteer is found directly to Vancouver.

-------------------------------------

DISCLAIMER:

Please visit wcpdogrescue.com to read about West Coast Paws Dog Rescue and its adoption process.

The info included in each WCP bio is provided to us from the international rescuer. WCP does not have in-person access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions, although we ask for video proof of a dog's attributes wherever possible. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person(s) adopting them and the environment in which they live.

WCP is unable to guarantee the accuracy of a dogs age and/or breed.
