Camila's Story
Camila is at our shelter. Please submit an application from our website or just come in to meet him during open hours!

Scroll through her pictures to see her cute videos!

Camila and her sister Perla and brother Philber come to us all the way from Puerto Rico. These island dogs are known as "Satos" (slang for street dog), and it is estimated that there are over 600,000 on the island. Camila and her siblings were found as teeny tiny puppies and taken in off the streets by a good samaritan. An organization down there helped get them vaccinated and healthy enough to travel, and sent them to us. We are so happy to have them here!

Camila is such a sweetheart. She is the more outgoing between her and her sister. Like her sister, she is happy to be in the mix with all of the dogs of all sizes. She is learning to walk on a leash for the first time (sometimes we baby these pups and carry them to the yard!), and is doing well. Treats help her overcome anything-- like a true Sato, girl loves to eat!
She has done great with leash walking since she arrived, and is loving the extra time volunteers and staff are taking to make sure she is learning everything she needs to.

Camila loves playgroup and gets along with all the other dogs - she is a natural! We love to watch her run through the yard to chase a dog friend, or just hang out in the sun after they've played. Camila is happy to go-with-the-flow, whatever the other dogs feel like doing.
Something we really love about Satos is their size - they stay a perfect medium size! They are not too small....but not too big...truly, just the right size. Camila is a nice red coat, too - a very pretty girl!

Camila is affectionate, gentle, and sweet with everyone. She is going to make a person or family very happy. We hope you will come and meet her soon!

Camila's adoption fee is $450. This animal is spayed, and is up to date on core vaccines. She will need a Heartworm test between 6-7 months of age at the adopter's own vet.

Since she is a puppy, any adopter should anticipate needing to work on housebreaking and other training using positive reinforcement training only.
