Calliope's Story

Calliope (aka "Cal")

Meet Cal, an affectionate, loyal, and curious little guy who weighs eight to ten pounds! His records say he's ten years old, but he has the energy of a puppy. He's moderate to high energy and loves people (and anyone else who will give him attention). He's so adaptable and brave, and he handles new places with ease. The city's hustle and bustle doesn't faze him.

Cal loves everyone he meets, even new people, and he doesn't mind kids at all. He's GREAT with other dogs, super playful and friendly, and he welcomes guests and all their attention. He's great on a leash, a follower more than a leader. He's still learning potty training, crate training, and stairs, and he responds best to soft voices and positive tones. He loves feeling encouraged!

His favorite things are balls and small chew toys, and he just learned to fetch! Short walks and lots of short play sessions are ideal for him. He's extremely portable and doesn't mind a carrier at all. If you pick him up and hold him, he'll fall asleep within five minutes.

Cal would do best with a patient, even-tempered adopter who wants a little right-hand man. He loves nurturing energy. He'd thrive in a home with another animal, but with enough attention from his people, he'd be fine on his own. He's the perfect size for apartment living in a moderate household.

**What his foster says about him:**
"He is SO stinking sweet. He truly just wants to love and be loved. He wants to be someone's right-hand man. He is a VERY good boy. Whoever adopts him will be extremely lucky."

**INTERESTED IN ADOPTING?**
To adopt apply on our website [www.truenorthrescue.org/adopt](https://www.truenorthrescue.org/adopt) and email adopt@truenorthrescue.org to follow up on your application.

PLEASE DO NOT EMAIL TO ASK IF HE/SHE IS AVAILABLE. IF THIS LISTING IS UP, THE DOG IS NOT ADOPTED YET.

Also, we have a very high volume of applications and we are all volunteers. We cannot respond to every application personally. Please make sure your application gives us a good picture of your family and the life you plan on providing a dog from our rescue. We choose a home based on the BEST FIT for EACH dog and approve on a dog by dog basis. Thank you!
