Meet Callie, our adorable half face!<br/><br/>Despite being a good girl in our care, she has been feeling a bit overwhelmed by the constant barking, and is now spending time in the puppy room, where the atmosphere is less stressful and quieter.<br/>This helps her tremendously. <br/><br/>She has excellent manners, she can be shy at first, in the back of her kennel but then slowly approaching to be at the front, then instant tail wags. <br/>If you're staff or a frequent volunteer, someone she knows she's completely comfortable in her own skin and a completely different dog.<br/><br/>Young at 2 1/2 years old, she's the perfect size at 40 pounds.<br/>Callie is spayed & fully vetted. <br/>Microchipped and so ready for a home environment.<br/><br/>Gentle, calm & sweet she walks perfectly on a leash. <br/><br/>During dog intros there were 2 loose dogs in the back playarea, both larger & more active.<br/>Tyson & Nyla, a male and female that greeted her. <br/>At first she was cautious cowering as if she thought they were going to attack her, but neither did so she proceeded to follow them around.<br/><br/>For that reason we feel like if her adopter has another dog it would need to be a mellow dog, one that would initially give her space.<br/>We don't feel like she needs another dog to be happy like some of our other dogs that we insist need a companion dog.<br/><br/>Cassie will start going to doggy daycare at Camp Merricks as a newbie where she can enjoy more freedom & space to explore while building her confidence. <br/><br/>She's truly has a beautiful heart, plus frankly she's a knockout with her markings. <br/>And let's talk about those ears!!<br/><br/>We think she might have some Boston or Boxer in her based on her shorter snout.<br/><br/>VIDEOS on our Facebook page.<br/><br/>To apply go to www.amherstanimalshelter.org/adopt. <br/>If you plan to come visit her please check in with us that she's not at doggy-daycare/Camp that day.
