Cabernet (Cabbie)

Meet Cabernet (Cabbie for Short)!

Sweet as can be and absolutely adorable, meet Cabernet, affectionately known as Cabbie!

Cabernet is a beautiful 3-month-old female Chocolate Labrador Retriever mix with a gorgeous chocolate-brown coat, floppy ears, soulful eyes, and the sweetest little face!

This precious girl was found as a stray in South Texas and is now getting a second chance at finding the loving family she deserves! She is expected to arrive Halloween weekend and can't wait to meet her future family!

At just 3 months old, Cabbie is still very much a puppy! She'll need a family prepared for potty training, leash training, socialization, and all the fun that comes with raising a young dog.

Based on her appearance, our best guess is that Cabernet is a Labrador Retriever mix. We estimate she'll grow into a medium-to-large dog, potentially around 40–60 lbs full grown, although her adult size cannot be guaranteed.

**Interested in adopting Cabernet?**

The first step is completing an adoption application. Applications must be approved before scheduling a meet and greet.

https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/PDAR/Dog

**Adoption Fee: $550**

A $100 refund will be provided once Cabernet has been spayed and proof of the procedure is submitted to the rescue.

All puppy adopters are required to sign a spay/neuter agreement committing to having their puppy spayed or neutered when age-appropriate, as determined in consultation with their veterinarian. For larger breeds, this is typically around one year of age. Proof of the completed procedure must be provided to the rescue to receive the $100 refund.

Cabernet will receive age-appropriate veterinary care prior to adoption, including vaccinations, deworming, microchipping, and other routine care.

**Important Adoption Information:**

Please understand that rescue dogs often come to us with little to no background information. Since Cabernet was found as a stray, we do not know her parents, genetic background, or complete history.

All breed identifications are our best guesses based on physical appearance. We do not perform DNA testing, and breed, adult size, temperament, and energy level cannot be guaranteed.

While we do our best to provide accurate information, a dog's personality and behavior may change as they settle into a new environment. Adopters should be prepared to provide patience, consistency, training, and time to adjust.

All veterinary care provided is based on the dog's age and needs while in our rescue. We cannot guarantee a dog's future health or rule out unknown medical conditions.

**A Note About Adoption Fees:**

Paws Deep Animal Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization run by dedicated volunteers. Adoption fees are not a profit for our rescue. They help cover the costs of rescuing, transporting, feeding, and providing veterinary care for animals in our care.

While some adoption fees help offset the cost of an individual dog's care, many of the animals we rescue require extensive medical treatment, surgeries, or other specialized care that far exceeds their adoption fees. The fees collected from adoptions help us continue saving those animals whose adoption fees don't begin to cover their expenses.

By adopting, you're not just giving one dog a loving home. You're also helping us provide a second chance to other animals in need!

Thank you for supporting rescue and helping us save lives!
