Buttercup's Story
Buttercup - what a sweet name, right? I came to AGPR skinny and scrawny from a shelter out in southwest Virginia.

I turned four years old this summer (June 2025). But don't let that fool you, I have lots of energy and also enjoy just chillin' in between. I LOVE people and will often lean into you and then melt into you and slide down to the ground so you can give me belly rubs. I'll let you know when I've had enough (don't hold your breath!).

I have to make it very clear that I do NOT LIKE CATS! And we recently learned that horses scare the living daylights out of me. I know, that's a fault but I can't help it. But if that doesn't bother you and you'd like to meet me, send in an application. I'd love to meet you...

All Great Pyrenees require a fenced-in yard (at least four foot high). If you have questions about the breed or our adoption policies and procedures, please go to our website at www.agprescue.org. There's plenty of good information about the breed on our website - Pyrs aren't a breed for everyone!

Our adoption application is online: http://agprescue.org/adoption-application/agpr-application-donations/ Please note that we are a small regional rescue organization. We will consider adopting to families within a four to five hour drive to Richmond, VA
