Butterball Bold's Story

This dog is currently out of state but will be transported to New England shortly with no additional travel costs. The long distance adoption process includes talking to the foster they are living with in the south. Roughly 90% of our dogs are successfully long distance adopted and 10% adopted locally.

**Please read Butterball Bold's entire profile, which includes a link to the adoption application at the end. Thank you!**

Meet Butterball Bold, a 3-year-old Boxer mix, weighing 50 pounds (as of 3/26/26). This strong boy was a local surrender in Mississippi, but he can't wait to see what New England is all about!

This boy's got the muscle, but he's also got the heart! Butterball is a friend to dogs, cats, and strangers! He hasn't met kids yet but hopefully he'll win them over with his funny antics. He's a true goofball who'll keep you entertained for hours, so put down your phone and watch Butterball juggle instead! Just kidding. He doesn't juggle. That's only for clowns.

Butterball's the kind of boy to run around a park during a game of fetch or cuddling up next to you after a long day. He'll gladly listen to you complain about your job and will even sympathize with you. Your boss might not see your value, but Butterball sees you. Too bad he can't be your employer! Butterball would give you raises and treats everyday!

He's a sweet soul that'll cower when he's anxious, but then he'll army crawl and roll over for belly rubs which is the perfect way to calm him down.

Butterball has experience with leashing, crates, and also appears to be house-trained (though he asks for your patience once he adjusts to your home.) He doesn't know commands yet, but is looking forward to learning more so he can show off at the dog park. They don't take him seriously with his name so he's gotta do something to impress the other dogs!

If you're looking for a loyal companion who will bring joy and energy to your life, he's your guy! Bring this lovable ball of butter home today!

All dogs are up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered at the time of adoption. All dogs require professional training to become the best family member they can be.

To adopt or learn more about Butterball Bold, you must fill out an adoption application. Their information is correct to the best of our abilities and the information we have been given as of the day of posting. From time to time we receive new information/photos of a dog and we do recreate their listing, which means their old listing link will no longer be valid. If you are considering a dog but don't apply right away please make sure to search for the dog by name if the link you have no longer works.

Please note, GDRNE does not guarantee the breed of any dog or puppy unless stated that we have run DNA. All breeds listed are educated estimates. Note that if the dog is listed as an "Out of town pet" there are NOT additional transport fees - it is included in our adoption fee Our dogs are rescued from various situations. It is most likely that both their parents were strays and even if not, mixes of some sort and that their grandparents were mixes as well. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application. Great Dog is not a shelter so there is no building you can visit. Our dogs live in private foster homes until adopted.
