Butter Lamb's Story

Butter Lamb, affectionately known as Lamby, is a 2 year old Cavi that has been shorn like a sheep. She came straight from a puppy mill in Ohio with this hair cut, but her flowy feathers will growl back! In a very short time, her need for affection has won over her wariness of people. She’s still gaining confidence but is already a snoring in your lap kind of couch buddy. She does have quite a bit of puppy busy energy, she’s sort of like having an 8 week old puppy in an obese adult dog body. She is very playful with other dogs, is learning toys, exploring everything in the house and yard with her mouth, and running full speed with no brakes or idea of how to steer! She is funny, and getting funnier every day. We need to find her a home that’s willing to wait for her to fully come out of her shell, while also harnessing her puppy exuberance with patience and a sense of humor.

**Her adopters must have another friendly dog that will enjoy her all up in their business and a fenced yard** as she does not currently walk on leash and is having a hard time with learning (but will get there!) She is perfect in her crate, working on housebreaking but doing really well, nervous in the car but handles it ok. She is fine with cats, learning that they don’t really want to play. She likes to be close to people but is still flinchy about being touched, this is also getting better everyday.

Lamby has already lost almost 2 pounds in just under 2 weeks, but has a way to go in her weight loss journey. She is currently 26 lbs and must continue to lose weight. Fortunately, her silly antics should help!
ADOPTION FEE : $500
Please submit an application through our rescue, NOT a Petfinder inquiry
---------------------------------------
Apply to adopt here:
https://puppymillrescueteam.org/dog-adoption-application/

This dog is located in Kenmore NY. ADOPTION POLICIES The Puppy Mill Rescue Team’s dogs are placed into adoptive homes within 60 miles of the foster home. We have foster homes in Rochester, NY, Buffalo, NY, and Macedonia, OH. When applying for a specific dog please check the profile to see where the dog is located. If you are not in this area and are looking to adopt, we recommend that you visit our Rescue Partners area or Petfinder.com to locate a rescue in your area. A legally binding Adoption Agreement must be signed at the time a dog is placed. The adoption donation varies and is included in the dog’s description on the website as well as in the Adoption Agreement. Adoption donations are not negotiable and payment must be made in full prior to or at the time of the placement of the dog. Please read prior to submission of an application for adoption. All potential homes must complete our adoption process which includes an application, meet and greet, home inspection and veterinary reference. Applicants must provide veterinary references if they have previously owned a pet and contact veterinary facilities to authorize release of their records to a PMRT representative upon request. Applicants who rent their homes must verify that they are permitted to have a dog and provide a landlord contact number on the adoption application. Landlords will be contacted in every case, no exception. The primary adopter must be at least 21 years old. We are solely committed to the dogs accepted into the rescue. We want to find them loving, permanent homes and go to great lengths to place the right dog into the right family. We reserve the right to decline any adoption based on what we feel is in the best interest of the dog.
