Butch's Story

Meet Butch, a seven-year-old Dobie mix weighing 68 pounds.

If you're looking for a loyal best friend, Butch is ready to steal your heart.

This handsome Doberman is everything people love about the breed—intelligent, affectionate, people-oriented, and incredibly devoted to his humans. Dobermans are known for forming deep bonds with their families, and Butch is no exception. He loves being with his people and is happiest when he's included in the action.

Butch came to us with a significant injury to one of his legs, believed to possibly be the result of a severe burn. Thankfully, X-rays showed no fractures or damage to the bone, and his leg is healing nicely. He still has a ways to go before he's fully recovered, but he's making great progress every day. He's also underweight and has a small lump on his chest that should be monitored by his future veterinarian.

Despite everything he's been through, Butch hasn't let it dampen his spirit. He walks well on a leash, absolutely loves chasing tennis balls, and is always happy to spend time with his people. His cropped ears give him the classic Doberman look, but behind that striking appearance is a gentle, sweet dog who just wants to be loved.

Butch is looking for a family who will continue helping him heal, both physically and emotionally, while giving him the life every dog deserves. With good nutrition, veterinary follow-up, and plenty of love, this incredible boy has a bright future ahead of him.

If you're ready for a loyal, loving companion who will stand by your side through thick and thin, Butch is waiting to meet you.

This pet is available for adoption on 7/11/2026 2:23 PM at the Yakima Humane Society adoption center.
