Bumper A061077's Story
Bumper came to us with a fractured pelvis, a result of being hit by a car. He has spent the last couple of months on cage rest, receiving care and loving attention from staff and volunteers in his kennel as he recovered from his injury. Now that he is healed and strong enough, Bumper has been able to enjoy his first gentle outings and meeting new friends, two-legged and four. He's so obviously thrilled to be out and about, his face never seems to stop smiling.

Although he'd been unfailingly sweet to all his human friends while on cage rest, Bumper had seemed a bit reactive to the other dogs walking past his kennel. We thus were unsure about his attitude toward canine friendship. We are thrilled to report, however, that he's now met a variety of our other dogs and done beautifully with them, both through a fence and nose to nose. He seems very happy to be expanding his social circle. Maybe he had just been having sad FOMO from his kennel watching the other dogs go out to play, for which we certainly can't fault him.

Bumper has the makings of an exceptionally lovely family dog. Are you perhaps the author of the next chapter of this hero's story? If so, come and meet Bumper!

Bumper is neutered and can go home with you right away. Though we can't make guarantees, he appears well housetrained. We don't have information on his attitude toward cats at this time.
