Bug's Story

Gentle soul ready for forever!Bug is an absolute sweetheart with a little extra charm—hence the nickname “Bugger”! DNA testing revealed he’s a unique Doberman/Husky mix, blending the loyal, loving nature of a Doberman with the playful spirit of a Husky. He adores being with his people, enjoys outdoor time, and will need a securely fenced yard since running is one of his favorite things.

Bug is a mellow, easygoing snuggle buddy who’s happiest in a calm, predictable environment. He’s looking for a quiet, low-key home with older children only (13+), as young kids make him anxious. He prefers a peaceful household with a simple routine.

He hasn’t been crated in many years, but his foster is gently reintroducing crate time in a positive way, and Bug is doing well—especially when meals are involved! He’s also comfortable being left out with a gate when you’re away. Bug does show some mild separation anxiety, which is being worked on with patience and consistency.

This handsome guy is a bit of a counter surfer, so kitchen management and a locking trash can are a must. For enrichment, he prefers filled bones over plush toys. He loves being outside (no digging!), is generally quiet, and will let you know if it’s potty time—or if you’re running late with meals.

Bug rides great in the car, walks nicely on a pinch collar, and is a rock star at the vet—nail trims included. He’s currently working on shedding a few extra pounds, so treats are limited and broken into smaller pieces.

Bug is a gentle, affectionate companion who’s ready to settle into his forever home with people who appreciate a relaxed pace, lots of love, and a loyal shadow by their side.

This fabulous foster is a Doberman Rescue Minnesota foster dog.

Please read all adoption steps and policies carefully on our website. http://dobermanrescueminnesota.com/adoption-steps/

Qualified adopters are within the approved adoption area, and Adopter will be requested to visit this foster dog at the foster family home. Our foster families are generally located within a 250 mile radius of Minneapolis, MN.

All DRM dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, health checked, microchipped, dewormed, 4DX tested, and on monthly flea/tick and heartworm prevention. 7/3/26 11:13 PM
