Buddy's Story

Buddy is an 8-month-old Mini Aussiedoodle with a lot of potential and an adorable, compact size. At around 20 pounds, he's the perfect fit for someone looking for a smaller canine companion.

Buddy came to the shelter after struggling with children in his previous home. To set him up for success, we are seeking an adult-only home where he can feel safe, build confidence, and adjust at his own pace.

The shelter environment has been overwhelming for Buddy, and he can be shy when meeting new people. He tends to hang back and observe until he feels comfortable. With patience and understanding, his curiosity begins to emerge, and he starts to show his true personality. Buddy will need a family willing to give him time to decompress and allow trust to develop naturally. The bond you'll build with him will be well worth the effort.

Buddy did well with other dogs during his assessment, although he was initially timid around them. We are told he does not do well with cats.

Buddy's Ideal Home:

Adult-only household
Australian Shepherd or herding breed experience preferred
No cats
Patient adopters willing to give him time to adjust

Buddy is ready to find the understanding home he deserves. If you think you could be the right match for this sweet boy, we'd love for you to come meet him.
