Buddy's Story

Hi there, I’m a handsome little Jack Russell Terrier mix named Buddy. I am about 1.5 years old, weigh 20.4 lbs, and I was kept with a couple of doggy friends in an outdoor crate on an apartment balcony in San Antonio, Texas. It was a miserable life, and because our owner could not afford our care, we were surrendered to 4 Little Paws Rescue. We are healthy, happy, spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped, and ready to find much better futures!!

I am a very happy and friendly boy with gobs of enthusiasm and a sweet attitude. I am a little shy at first with new people, and love playtime with other dogs, running zoomies, chewing on dog toys, chasing balls, but not bringing them back, and golf balls are my favorite. I am a total foodie and very food motivated, loving all treats and healthy snacks mixed in with my kibble, like bits of apple, pumpkin, or unsweetened applesauce. I am very snuggly with humans and dogs, and like a little shadow, I will follow you everywhere. I am a good boy, housetrained to use a potty pad, and I have just learned how to use a doggy door. I walk okay on a leash, don't mind a ride in the car, and although I’m not a fan of being in a crate (my awful past life), I will go inside with a bit of encouragement, like some doggy treats or a lick mat. When the humans are away, I am allowed to roam free inside the house in a gated off area with a potty pad and doggy door access with the other dogs, and at night I sleep in bed with the humans. My future looks bright, and I am so looking forward to joining a wonderful family anywhere on the East Coast!
