Hello! My name is Buddy and I am currently OPHS's longest resident in shelter. I arrived at the shelter after bouncing around 5 other homes in a few years. I am extremely athletic and very smart.

I have scarring on my neck from previous abuse and trauma. I am walked on a harness instead of a collar to help protect my trachea from additional damage.

I am a wonderful companion dog; super friendly and eager to please. Cuddles are my favorite and I will lean on you to get pets and scratches. I love running around off leash for hours in the yard, as long as there's a person out there with me.

I have a strong distrust for other dogs and I become very reactive when I see another dog or deer. I am not a candidate for walking on leash anywhere where other dogs or deer will be present. I see fence jumping as a hobby when left unattended, even with an 8 ft fence. I have severe separation anxiety and require a experienced dog owner ONLY. My former owners had all the love and patience in the world for me, but were unable to control me when I saw another dog.

Additional MEDICAL notes: Psychological trauma. Medicated for anxiety.
Additional BEHAVIOR notes: Severe separation anxiety – noisy.
