Buddy (Adoption Pending)

Buddy is looking for his new forever home that understands his activity level. He is an energetic Sheltie boy, at 3 year old and beautiful blue merle and weighs 31 pounds. He is a playful sheltie boy that likes his people but needs an owner ‘in charge’. Buddy is up to date on all of his vetting, vaccinations and is neutered and has great house manners and is house trained. Buddy has also done very well with his classes and one on one trainer and has come a long way here in Rescue and will need to continue with his training in his adoption home. <br/><br/>Buddy needs a very dedicated adoption home and a home that has had shelties or collies or alternate herding breed experience and this is MANDATORY with no exceptions. Buddy is not an entry level / first time sheltie owner type of pup. Having Buddy continue going to classes, maybe some agility or interactive classes will be very important and Buddy needs a job to do every day with his ‘Pack Leader’. <br/><br/>Buddy also does not get along with other male dogs. He seems to do fine with the female dogs but his new adoption home must not have any male dogs (or visiting male dogs) and must be aware of Buddy’s dislike for the male dogs when out for a leash walk. No cats in his new home and only children 13 and older. These requirements are MANDATORY with no exceptions. <br/><br/>Heart’s Promise Sheltie Rescue also requires a secure fenced in yard and Buddy will need a secure fenced in yard for his adoption home. NO EXCEPTIONS and this is mandatory. <br/><br/>Buddy is currently being fostered in Doylestown PA, (north of Philadelphia) and our preference would be to have the new adoption family meet Buddy at his foster home in Doylestown, PA for a meet and greet come adoption day. We do not transport to the new adoption home and we do not do long distance adoptions as a home visit is part of our application process, as well as reference checks.<br/> <br/>If you feel that your family and home meets ALL of the above requirements (with no exceptions) for Buddy’s adoption and you have an active home open to Buddy’s needs, we will accept your application to adopt.
