Buddy's Story
Foster home is located in Dundas, ON
Buddy is an adorable, friendly little guy. He has a cute little frosty face! He came into foster care underweight, but we are working on putting a couple of pounds on him. So far, he has been friendly to everyone he has met while in foster care. He is extremely snuggly and really loves to be close to his people. We have noticed that he does not like it when people put their face very close to his; he does growl a bit and warns you to back off. He enjoys going for walks and walks okay on a leash although he tends to pull at first so this will have to be worked on. Buddy adapted well to our home and routine and gets along with our Dachshund and Samoyed. He likes a good lap and will hang out on the couch getting nice and snuggly. He barks when left alone and experiences separation anxiety.
He chewed through a soft crate in about 10 minutes when he was left alone. If he is left out when we leave the house, he barks for a long time before he settles. Buddy needs to go to an active home with owners who will take him for walks and be home with him much of the time. Owners will need to be committed to walking him and working on housetraining. Buddy is doing much better with house training lately, but he still has accidents inside. Buddy also needs experienced owners who will work on making sure he has boundaries, as well as helping him with his anxiety. He has shown some resourceguarding behaviours when in a new environment and unsure of his surroundings. Buddy has not been tested with kids. He is rather anxious and shy so I do not think he would do well with young children; he will have to go to a home without kids. While it is not imperative
that he be the only dog, he might do better in a house being the only dog as he tends to mark around the house and does a great job of entertaining himself.
