Meet Buddy

Male, 2 years old, 50 lbs

Personality: Patient, eager-to-please, rambunctious, calm, affectionate, quiet, gentle, snuggler, energetic, playful, and outgoing.

Buddy is the sweetest best bud you'll ever meet. He is quiet but loves to let you know how much he loves you by putting his head on your lap and looking lovingly into your eyes - even better if this prompts pets from you! If Buddy happens to be sleeping on one side of the couch and you sit down on the other side, he'll scoot his body over until his head is in your lap. He does great with other dogs, including puppies, and is happy to get all of his energy out at the dog park.

Buddy's a communicative guy who will clearly let you know when he's tired or needs a walk. A tired Buddy will happily curl up on the couch and cuddle, though he also sleeps in his crate overnight and his foster trusts him to be left home alone outside of the crate. Buddy is house trained and, while he may still find a little mischief to get into, he is easily redirected with a toy. He is still learning how to play with humans but he's very eager!

If you are interested in meeting a dog or cat, we require an adoption application. If the animal has "HAS APPLICATION" listed, they are still available to receive additional applications but also may be in the process of being adopted soon. City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is a foster-based rescue in Washington, DC. We do not have a shelter. CDCK has a thorough adoption process to find the best possible fit for each of our dogs and cats (we do not operate under a first-come, first-served model).

Upon accepting a new cat or dog into the organization, we provide a basic vet visit that includes necessary vaccinations, disease screenings, deworming, microchips, and spay/neuter for dogs six months and older. We do not provide a comprehensive medical exam before adoption. As a result, sickness, injury, and disability may exist unbeknownst to CDCK. City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is not responsible for payment of any vet care, including known and unknown medical conditions once a cat or dog is adopted from us.
Dog specific: Rabies, DHPPL, and Bordetella vaccines. They are tested for HW, Lyme, Ehrlichia, Anaplasmosis.

Most cats and dogs will have a house-training accident in the initial days in their new home and we cannot guarantee any pet is housebroken or crate trained.
