Buddy's Story
DOB 10/16/24
Weight: 58 lbs
Temperament: Gentle, initially shy, very dog‑friendly

Meet Buddy — a resilient young dog with a soft heart and a story that shows just how far love can go.

Buddy was live‑trapped in March 2025 after surviving in snow with his littermates, his face and paws painfully embedded with quills. It took more than 30 hours and a team of determined rescuers to bring him to safety.

Today, Buddy has blossomed. He walks beautifully on leash, enjoys quiet affection, and is highly treat‑motivated. He still has a shy streak, but he warms up quickly—especially with women. Though he currently lives in a foster home with men, he truly shines and feels most confident around female handlers. One of his biggest milestones: a child can now hand‑feed him treats, something we never imagined in those early days.

Buddy is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and ready for a home that understands gentle guidance, patience, and the magic of earning a dog’s trust.

If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will reward your kindness every single day, Buddy may be the one.

About Our Rescue & Transport Process
Most of our dogs originate in Eastern Washington, where we complete the majority of their vetting because it is significantly more affordable. After vetting, dogs are transferred to foster homes in Pierce, King, and Snohomish Counties—however, many are adopted before they reach their foster homes.

Because we are 100% volunteer‑powered, we meet pre‑approved adopters in Ellensburg to keep transport manageable and fair for everyone. If you cannot drive to Ellensburg, we will do our best to arrange a volunteer driver to meet you in your Western WA city.

Meeting Locations
Western WA adopters:
Approved adopters will meet in Ellensburg within the next 1–2 weeks. Volunteer hand‑offs closer to the new home may be available if travel is difficult.

Eastern WA adopters:
Approved adopters may meet in Moses Lake, Quincy or Omak.

Apply to adopt Buddy today.
