Buddy wasn't supposed to be looking for a new home at 8 years old.<br/><br/>Buddy is an 8-year-old Aussie mix who had a person. He had a home. He had a life he understood.<br/><br/>And then his owner passed away.<br/><br/>Buddy didn't understand why everything changed. Dogs never really get an explanation for these things. One day their person is there, and then suddenly they aren't.<br/><br/>Now, at 8 years old, Buddy is starting over.<br/><br/>He isn't asking for much.<br/><br/>A soft place to sleep.<br/>Someone to follow around the house.<br/>A little patience while he learns a new routine.<br/>And, most importantly, someone to belong to again.<br/><br/>There is something especially heartbreaking about watching an older dog lose the person who was their whole world.<br/><br/>But there is also something incredibly special about getting to be the person who shows them that their story isn't over.<br/><br/>Buddy still has love to give.<br/><br/>He still has good days ahead of him.<br/><br/>He still deserves lazy afternoons, car rides, treats slipped under the table, a favorite spot on the couch and someone who says "Come on, Buddy" when it's time to go home.<br/><br/>He had a family once.<br/><br/>We'd really like to give him one again.<br/><br/>Come meet Buddy. <br/><br/>Sometimes the dog who has already known love is the one who understands best just how precious it is.
