Buddha's Story

Introducing Buddha the most gorgeous polar bear you have ever seen! He was my birthday rescue and so worth it! He joined us in April and has been doing great with us. Buddha was on the rescue list at the shelter and needed our help. Once meeting him it was wrap and we knew he was meant to be with us! He’s around 5 years old, 60lb of beefcake that was obviously living as a yard dog being neglected! Never again!

Buddha has been decompressing and settling in. He healed up from his neuter and been cleaning his ears every few days. The beginning with any new dog is very important. Don’t rush anything and take it slow. It’s all about structure right now. A new dog can be stressed out in a new environment, new dogs, new people, new smells. We don’t want to cause any anxiety so it’s lots of crate time and rotations. Buddha is still getting a ton of love, just with boundaries. He’s been meeting the dogs through gates and crates with no issues. He has hung out with a few dogs but he doesn’t really engage or play with them. He likes to do his own this and take all the humane affection.

Buddha loves his stuffy toys and wants to carry them around to show off. It’s hilarious! The cutest is when he want your attention he gives you the paw.. wins me over every time! His little T-Rex arms kill me! He’s the sweetest, but a total bulldozer. He doesn’t realize his size and strength so we recommend no small children.

We are taking applications to find his a forever home! Buddha is crate and house trained. He is fully vetted, neutered, vaccinated, and chipped. He is fostered in Sacramento. Home owners only with a fully fenced in yard. Breed experience is a must. Please go fill out an application if you are interested in fostering or adopting Buddha!
