Meet Buckie
Buckie is such a sweet and docile guy with a DOB of 10/19/21, that weighs 68 lbs. We would really consider Buckie to be a special needs guy. He is never going to be a dog that loves going places and meeting new people. He is however getting used to his environment and getting used to meeting people on his familiar walks.
He would prefer going on trail walks in the woods. He absolutely loves to play and run in a fenced in yard with other dogs. He is really a dog's dog and needs another confident dog or dogs in his home to pal around with!
He arrived to us from a rescue that was closing it's doors out of Mississippi, along with his sister Angel. He's a shy guy initially and will take some time to decompress in a new environment and come out of his shell. We would also say that he is truly a ladies man! Once you have won him over, he will reward you with a lifetime of love and loyalty! He is house trained, walks great on a leash and enjoys going for car rides!
He will need to find a home with a fenced in yard, as he loves to play fetch, chase and just spending time outside! He loves everything that New England has to offer for weather- even the snow! He has lived with cats and done just fine! He is wary of men that he doesn't know but, will come around once he knows he can trust them.
He will retreat when he is nervous, so a home without children would probably be best, as sudden movements startle him.
Buckie can't wait to find his forever family to love... could that be you?
Adoption fees cover age specific vaccinations, spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm/lyme/ehrlichia test, worm and transport fees.
Adoption fees:
Through 6 months of age $450;
7 months to through 5 years $400;
6 years and under 9 years $325: bonded pairs are $500;
9 years and older $250: bonded pairs are $300
This dog is available unless it is marked as Pending, meaning Pending Adoption. This dog is in foster care locally, ONLY if Maine or New Hampshire is listed next to the dogs name; otherwise, the dog is still waiting with our partner rescue for an adoption or foster home in New England.
PLEASE NOTE - We will check your veterinary reference, to ensure that current and prior dogs have a history of being kept up to date on rabies and distemper, have had annual heartworm tests, and are on heartworm preventative at least 6 months of the year. Current pets must by spayed/neutered.
Imported dogs are transported on a USDA approved transport with a Health Certificate. All imported dogs are quarantined 14 days prior to getting on transport.
