Buck recently went on a Dog Day Out and here's what his DDO buddy had to say!

"Meet Buck! We had such a fun time with this guy! We explored Country Park, a friend's fenced yard, hung out at home, walked around downtown, and chilled at Awoo Coffee on Elm Street! Buck is so smart, he learned "sit immediately and then did it on his own whenever he wanted a treat after that!

Buck has quite a bit of energy to burn and he wants to be every person and every dog's friend. He's heart worm positive, so we did take breaks here and there after going "paws to the walls playing fetch and tug! When he finishes his course of meds (which GCAS supplies to all fosters and adopters) I suspect he'll hike, run, and fetch for as long as you might want to! (Reminder: Heartworm is NOT contagious and IS treatable!)

Buck loves to ride in the car and sits calmly or naps. He hops in and then waits patiently to be untethered when you arrive at your destination!

Buck has been at the shelter since January and needs some practice with leash walking and staying "all paws on the floor, but he's a super fast learner and wants to please! He takes treats and gives kisses so very gently and was very happy to let people of all ages give him pets everywhere we went! This boy would love to be part of a family!

If I had to guess, I would say Buck is probably mostly lab with maybe some hound in the family tree! If you would like to meet Buck to foster or adopt, you can drop by or schedule an appointment at Guilford County Animal Services any day from 12 to 4, except Tuesday! Buck has so much love to give and would make an awesome companion!"

As always, we strongly recommend bringing any resident dogs to the shelter for a meet and greet with potential new family members to be sure it's a good match. If bringing a dog for a meet and greet, please bring proof of up to date rabies, bordetella, and DHPP vaccines.
