Bubba's Story

Hi I am Bubba!
I am about 2 years old and came in as a stray on 7-10-25.

I am quick to come and say hi to everyone and he has a cute little prance when he comes up to greet you. We would consider him a medium energy dog who would make an excellent companion if your looking for a loyal dog to build a relationship with. He settles well but will need moderate exercise.

Bubba really enjoys being brushed while chewing a long lasting chew. He will sit for long periods of time just to get pets and brushes and cuddles. He is also a leaner. He LOVES the toy food puzzles and he figures them out quickly. He is a good and smart pup.

A very nice family also donated a health and dna test for Bubba because he is so wonderful. His health test came back good and his DNA test came back as 74.8% American Pitbull terrrier, 10.5% supermutt (chow chow, german shepherd, and boxer), 10.1% Cane Corso, and 4.6% St. Bernard. His adopters will get copies of all these records.

He likes to play and has energy but could easily be a couch potato during the week and then go on a hike on the weekends. He really just wants to be with you. This is a dog that could easily be a Velcro dog. He loves to people watch and enjoys being out in public. He has a lot of warm personality and has become a staff favorite! He is very treat motivated and learns quickly. Bubba walks great on the leash, and knows sit, down, paw, off, wait and stay. He is housebroken, crate trained, non destructive in the home and also does great in the car. He also loves the water.

The only reason Bubba is still at the shelter is because he is very dog selective and would do best as an only "child". He has been taught "leave it" and does well when walking by or near other dogs in social settings but he needs to be the only one in a home setting.

Bubba is in foster care so please call the shelter to set up a time to meet him at the shelter.
*Follow us on Facebook to see Bubba's latest adventures in his foster home.*

Montgomery County SPCA's Adoption Policy
At the Montgomery County SPCA, we are dedicated to finding responsible, forever homes for all the pets in our care. To that end, we have created a thorough adoption process which helps us achieve this goal. This process includes a check of veterinary history records on any pets you currently have, and a home visit. If you rent your home, we require written proof (letter or lease) from your landlord that you are allowed to have pets. We undertake this kind of thorough review to ensure that animals who have already been discarded at least once will never have to experience this again.
