Brutus's Story

Hi, I’m Brutus! I’m a 3-year-old, 90-pound Anatolian Shepherd mix and I might just be the biggest, sweetest, most laid-back goofball you’ll ever meet! I’m a gentle giant with a heart to match my size and a personality that makes me pretty hard not to love. I’m not the kind of guy who needs to be the center of attention or have something exciting happening every minute. I’m perfectly content just hanging out with my people, enjoying the simple things in life and keeping everyone company. One of my favorite places to be is parked right on top of your feet, because apparently being close to you just isn’t close enough! I’m currently being fostered in Temperance, Michigan, where I’m showing everyone what a wonderful big guy I am.

I have a calm, easygoing personality and I get along wonderfully with both people and other dogs. Despite my impressive size, I’m really just a big softie who wants to love and be loved. I have a goofy side that makes people smile, but overall, I’m a pretty mellow fellow who is happy to go with the flow. I don’t need constant entertainment to be happy. Just give me a comfortable place to relax, some affection and a family to call my own and I’ll be one very content boy. I haven’t had any exposure to cats yet, so how I would do with feline friends is unknown. I came into rescue from a high-kill shelter down south, and while I don’t know why I ended up there, I’m incredibly grateful to have a second chance. Now I’m hoping to find a family who sees past my big size and realizes what a gentle, lovable companion I really am.

I’m fully vetted, neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations and preventatives. I have so much love to give and I’m ready to settle into a forever home where I can finally enjoy the good life. If you’ve been dreaming of a big, sweet, low-key best friend who will keep you company, make you laugh with his goofy personality and happily keep your feet warm every chance he gets, I think we might be a perfect match. I promise to take up a little extra space in your home, but I’ll take up an even bigger space in your heart!

If interested, please DO NOT submit an inquiry through Petfinder. Fill out the application at the link below.

https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/63adcb00cb896f59b74103d2/6abf24fdc5f8aedc750fb79a

Angie's Dog House's Adoption Policy
Our Adoption Process Our goal is to make the adoption process as smooth as possible while making sure each animal is matched with the right home 1. Submit an Application Complete our adoption application using the link at the bottom of each animal’s bio. Our team will review your application and if approved, someone from the rescue will reach out. PLEASE DO NOT FILL OUT AN INQUIRY ON PETFINDER 2. Home Video Once approved, we will ask you to submit a video walkthrough of your home and yard in lieu of an in-person home visit 3. Animals Already in Foster If the animal is currently in a foster home, the foster parent will contact you to answer questions, tell you more about the animal and arrange a meet and greet. Please bring a leash to the meet and greet. If everything goes well and you feel it is the right match, you may complete the adoption and take your new family member home that day 4. Direct Adoptions From Transport Some of our animals travel to Michigan specifically for direct adoption rather than going into a foster home. Because these animals are coming on transport specifically to meet their approved adopter, a direct adoption must be a firm commitment. Please ask any questions and make sure you are comfortable moving forward before committing to a transport animal 5. Finalizing the Adoption To complete the adoption, you will sign our adoption contract and pay the adoption fee. Once complete, your new family member is officially yours and can head home with you
