He prefers to play independently and may move away if approached during play, showing he values his space at times. With other dogs, Bruno can be inappropriate in his approach, coming in head-on and getting tense. For this reason, we believe he'd do best with a compatible dog of the opposite sex, with slow, thoughtful introductions.

Bruno's Ideal Home Looks Like:
- Kids around 10+, on a case-by-case basis
- Possibly another dog of the opposite sex, pending meet-and-greets
- A family comfortable with an active, strong dog
- People who can provide structure, consistency, and guidance

Bruno is a dog who will thrive with the right balance of freedom and boundaries. He's smart, expressive, and full of potential-just waiting for someone to help him channel it.

---

Condensed Staff Assessment Notes: Bruno is a young, active dog in his prime who loved exploring outdoors. On a leash, he pulled strongly, especially when he heard the other dogs barking. Inside, he was curious and engaged with me but had the tendency to jump up, especially when treats were involved. He also exhibited demand barking, it varied from attention seek attention to expressing discomfort.

Bruno preferred to play independently and would avoid me if I approached. He exhibited very low-level guarding behaviors, eating faster when I approached his food and hesitating to give up toys but without aggression. When meeting someone new people, he initially jumped up to investigate but quickly settled down to more appropriate behavior. He was inappropriate with another dog, approaching head-on and becoming tense as he pressed his face into the other dog's.

If interested in a pet at the Lycoming County SPCA, please fill out an adoption application. The application is available on our website: lycomingspca.org. We may require additional steps in our process such as a home visit, permission from parents, or other additional requests. We appreciate your patience as we complete your adoption. Before adding a new member to your family, please consider the following: Many pets live 10 to 15 years. How old will you be? How old will your children be? Is there a chance you could move in the next 10 years? Are you willing to restrict your choice of housing to accommodate a pet? If the pet is for a child are you willing to assume the care of the pet? Children must have parental guidance to care for a pet regardless of their age. Each breed of animal has genetic characteristics that need to be considered. Have you researched the breed that you are interested in? Are you financially prepared for a pet? Consider the following expenses: spaying or neutering, basic veterinary care, flea preventative, heart worm preventative, license, food, grooming.
