Bruno's Story
Meet Bruno! This handsome 5-year-old, 48 lb Siberian Husky mix spent 85 days—nearly three months—in a California shelter before landing on the dreaded list. Thankfully, we were able to get him to safety, and now that he’s settled into foster care, we’ve learned just how special he is.

Bruno may look like a Husky, but his foster is pretty convinced he doesn’t realize he is one. 😂 He is surprisingly low energy, incredibly calm, and much more interested in being a couch potato than running laps around the house. He loves a good sniffy walk and the occasional zoomies, but mostly he just wants to be with his people.

Bruno is a true velcro dog who will squeeze onto your lap whenever he gets the chance and tuck his head right into your shoulder. He’s affectionate, gentle, patient, and has done wonderfully with children. He’s also great with other dogs and peacefully coexists with them, though he has not been tested with cats.

He is fully potty trained, very food motivated, and incredibly tolerant of handling—brushing, paw checks, bandanas and all. He’s also remarkably quiet; his foster hasn’t heard him bark, howl, or even give a classic Husky “awoo.” His one very Husky trait? He can be quick if he spots an open door, so his future family will need to be mindful around entrances and exits.

Bruno is a sweet, easygoing, low-maintenance shadow looking for a human companion, a comfy couch, and the occasional adventure. After 85 days behind shelter walls, he deserves a family of his own.

Apply to adopt Bruno through Arctic Rescue at arcticrescue.org/adopt.
Please note that all Arctic Rescue dogs are marked “Needs Experienced Adopter.” Northern breeds often have higher exercise, training, and care needs, so adopters without prior experience are encouraged to research the breed before applying.
