Bruce's Story
Bruce
8 years, 17lbs
Rescued in the Southwest after his owner passed away

Meet Bruce!

Bruce has two settings: happily meeting someone new, or happily curled up next to his favorite person. There's no in-between, and there's definitely no yapping. So far in New York, I have not heard him bark once.

Out on walks, Bruce lights up around kids, adults, and other dogs alike. He just genuinely loves people and wants to say hi to everyone he meets. That said, he doesn't need daily runs or long walks. A relaxed stroll with plenty of stops to greet the neighborhood is exactly his speed.
Back at home, Bruce's favorite activity is being close to his person - think couch cuddles, quiet company, and a lot of affection. He sleeps well in his crate and handles being home alone for a few hours without any fuss.

Bruce's skills so far:

Sit (mastered)
Eager to learn more — he's a willing student, just waiting for someone to teach him a new trick
Making friends — with kids, adults, dogs, and probably your neighbors too
Being an excellent low-maintenance shedder — barely sheds, if at all
What Bruce needs: someone who's home often, loves an affectionate and gentle dog, and enjoys having a warm, friendly presence around. He is the kind of dog who makes a house feel more welcoming just by being in it.

If you want a calm, loving companion who's equally happy meeting new friends or snuggling up next to you, Bruce would love to meet you.

**Bruce previously tested positive for heartworm and was treated before he travelled north**

INTERESTED IN ADOPTING?
To adopt apply on our website www.truenorthrescue.org/adopt and email adopt@truenorthrescue.org to follow up on your application.

PLEASE DO NOT EMAIL TO ASK IF HE/SHE IS AVAILABLE. IF THIS LISTING IS UP, THE DOG IS NOT ADOPTED YET.

Also, we have a very high volume of applications and we are all volunteers. We cannot respond to every application personally. Please make sure your application gives us a good picture of your family and the life you plan on providing a dog from our rescue. We choose a home based on the BEST FIT for EACH dog and approve on a dog by dog basis. Thank you!
