Brownie's Story
***Brownie is a member of the Lonely Hearts Club. This means his adoption fee has been discounted! To learn more about adopting a Lonely Hearts Club member contact us today.***

Meet Brownie! This boy is all bark, no bite, without a single mean bone in his body! Brownie is a 6 year old neutered Australian Shepherd mix.
Brownie came to us with his fur-brother, Scoobie, who has his own listing here on our website. The pair came to us through no fault of their own, when some sudden changes in their owner's circumstances led to her not having the time to care for them anymore. These two were very well-loved and it was very hard for their owner to give them up, so we're hoping they can find homes where they can be cherished like that once again!
We had initially made Brownie and Scoobie a bonded pair, and were requiring they go to the same home. However, months passed with very little interest in the two boys. The longer that they spend at the shelter the more stressed they become, and we don't think it's air to make them sit in kennels for any longer than they have to. We have started separating Brownie and Scoobie during the day, and they've done alright with it. We believe they could adjust to going to separate homes, and we are now willing to adopt them out separately. If you are still interested them in a pair, we would love to see them go together, and will be offering an additional discount to someone who will take them both!
Brownie is out of his puppy stage, but he still LOVES his playtime! His absolute favorite thing to do is play fetch, and he will happily bring a ball back to you for hours. Brownie does great with kids, and immediately falls in love with those he meets. He has gotten along with multiple dogs previously, but here at the shelter he's been expressing some signs of dominance. This could be due to the stressful environment, but to be safe we will be requiring he meet and dogs in the home prior to adoption to make sure it's a good fit. He has not lived with any cats before.
While Brownie isn't quite a senior yet, it will be important that his owner take him to the vet for regular check-ups as he ages to make sure he's staying at the top of his health. He's not had any health issues at the shelter, but regular check-ins will ensure he stats happy and healthy for as long as possible!
After months of waiting for a forever home, we're hoping that this recent change will help him find a loving owner much sooner! If you are interested in Brownie, please come out and meet him today!
