Brown Sugar's Story
Meet Brown Sugar!

Brown Sugar is a 5 year old, 80 lb gentle giant. After spending the last few months in foster care, she's gone from being absolutely terrified at the shelter to becoming a dog who finally understands what home life is supposed to feel like.

Her foster says she's doing great in the home and is basically a pro at this point. She loves their young son and has been incredibly sweet and gentle with him. She's also making big progress with house training and has settled into a daily routine really well.

Brown Sugar is still figuring out how she feels about other dogs. She's shown interest and has done polite sniff greetings, but can get a little unsure and stiff, so slow introductions and continued guidance will be important for her confidence.

She also has a playful, goofy side that keeps showing up more the safer she feels. She can get a little mouthy during play, and according to her foster, she is apparently intelligent enough to remove the lid from a jar of peanut butter without leaving tooth marks. So. There's that.

Watching Brown Sugar come out of her shell has been really special. Now she's ready for a home that will keep helping her grow.

As always, we strongly recommend that resident dogs meet any new potential canine family members. If bringing a resident dog for a dog to dog test, please bring proof of Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella vaccines.

To meet/adopt her, please reach out to her foster mom at (336) 944-5872!
