Bridgette's Story

Hi! My name is Bridgette and I am looking for a forever home. I was picked up as a stray and taken to a really scary place called a shelter where, after my hold time was up, I was placed on something bad called "the list". Fortunatey for me, a BCAA volunteer saw my picture and started the process on getting me out of there. I was very happy to be out of there but was still pretty scared when I first came into foster, but everyone has been so nice to me that I have started coming out of my shell and discovering I love attention from anyone willing to give it to me (belly rubs are really good, too). I appear to be maybe a mix of a basset (my legs are only a couple inches) with possiby a boxer? Whatever I am, my foster mom says I am super cute with a personality to match. The vet put me a little over a year old and I weigh around 24lbs. It also looks like I have had puppies recently and was probably abandoned right after they were weaned. While I'm not aggressive towards other dogs, I prefer calmer ones that do not get in my face; so far I haven't bothered those things called cats. I have done really well in my crate which I will go in readily as I feels it's my safe space unless, of course, I'm allowed to be out with you. I am good on leash with just a little bit of encouragement. If you would like to meet me, please fill out an application which can be found at www.bcaaofnj.org.
