BRIAR's Story

Meet Briar

Briar is a 6-month-old female brindle Plott Hound mix with a beautiful tiger-striped coat and a sweet little white spot on her chest. Found as a stray, Briar is now ready to find a loving home where she can continue to grow, learn, and truly shine.

This young pup is full of energy and curiosity! Briar is still building her confidence and will need a patient, committed adopter who can guide her as she learns the ropes of being a well-mannered companion. She’s very smart and already shows that she’s a quick learner—she responds well to gentle correction and is eager to please.

Like many puppies, Briar can be a bit mouthy during play and tends to eat her food very quickly, so she’ll benefit from continued training and structure. With consistency and positive reinforcement, she has all the potential to become an amazing dog.

Briar enjoys playing with other dogs that match her energy level and would likely thrive with a canine companion. Due to her play style and ongoing training needs, she would do best in a home with older children who understand how to interact with an energetic puppy. A home without cats is recommended.

She’ll also need a securely fenced yard where she can safely run, play, and burn off her puppy energy.Briar is a work in progress—but also a diamond in the rough. With love, structure, and guidance, she’s sure to blossom into a loyal, fun-loving best friend. Could that be with you?

Come meet Briar and see if she’s your perfect match! If you are interested in adopting me or another homeless pet at Macomb County Animal Control, walk-in adoption hours are Monday-Friday from 10am-4pm. My adoption fee is $100
