Brandy's Story
***Brandy update***
Brandy had mast cell surgery mid-February. We are pleased to report that the tumor has not spread, and the pathology report revealed the tumor to be a very low grade, allowing us to believe that she will continue to lead a very happy, active life. Now the wound care for this surgery has been challenging due to her getting the wound open before it was finished healing requiring additional repair surgery and prolonged recovery/wound care. With that said the recovery time will be ongoing for 2-4 weeks.
***************************************************************************************************

Brandy was surrendered by her owner due to conflicts with another dog in the household. Although we know she had a conflict, she has interacted well with several dogs since arriving at TIRR Rescue. She does gain some tranquility when another strong lead dog is around. Her best friend is a dog much younger and larger. I would say she is almost dependent upon this dog for support. This tells me that she is capable of building a quick & solid bond with any dog that does not try to dominate or intimidate her. We have found that Brandy is a little nervous and thrives on having her human close at hand. She is definitely looking for a family that needs a dog; she is definitely a dog looking for a family.

When she arrived, she had a growth on her hip area that we had checked at her first vet visit. It was determined that it was likely a mast cell tumor and needed to be removed. This week the surgery was done, and we are hoping for a positive pathologist report.

Please contact TIRR at www.tirrrescue.org or tirrrescue@gmail.com to get more information on adopting Brandy.

If you are unable to adopt, please consider a small donation for her care or for other dogs in the TIRR Rescue program. https://www.tirrrescue.org/donate
More ways to support us:

Amazon Wishlist https://www.amazon.com/registry/wishlist/YKLKRTQ7GWKN
