Bowser's Story

**we have received tons of great applications for Bowser and are no longer accepting new ones.**

Bowser came into our care on 4/24 due to his owner's health issues. We will update his profile over the next few days as we determine what kind of home he needs to thrive. He lived with kids ages 8 and up, as well as other dogs and cats, and was very good with all. He has some quirks that will not make him a good fit for a first-time dog owner. He is not completely housebroken, so his next owner should be prepared to work with him on that. He is also not leash-trained and is used to spending time in the yard rather than going for walks. It is important that his adopter take him to a basic obedience class, as he is a big dog and needs to learn basic commands and build his confidence. He is two and one-half years old and loves attention.

The first step in our adoption process is to fill out an adoption application here: medfieldshelter.com/adopt

If a dog is listed on our website, it is still available for adoption; however, there may be applications ahead of yours. We typically receive many applications for every dog we post. All adoption meetings are by appointment.

Our dog adoption fee is $450 for dogs aged seven months to seven years old, and $250 for dogs aged eight years and older. Every dog we place receives age-appropriate vaccines, is treated for worms, ticks, and fleas, tested for heartworm, microchipped, and spayed or neutered before adoption. We send each dog home with a collar and leash. Please fill out the adoption application if you would like to be considered for a dog in our care.

With few exceptions, dogs are happiest and well-behaved when they receive daily exercise and ongoing training, so we always prefer to place our dogs with families willing to commit to both.
