Bow's Story
Meet Bow, a one-and-a-half-year-old Rottie mix weighing 75 pounds.

Bow's story is heartbreaking, but she hasn't let it define her.

She came to animal control after being surrendered from a home where she had gone seven days without food. Investigators also found deceased dogs on the property, making it clear that Bow had endured severe neglect. Despite everything she's been through, she continues to greet the world—and every person she meets—with an open heart.

Bow absolutely loves to have fun and get out for walks. She's energetic and always ready for her next adventure. Food is definitely the way to her heart, making her highly motivated and eager to learn. It's obvious she hasn't had much training or guidance in her life, and so many everyday experiences are still brand new to her. But she's curious, willing, and excited to discover what life has to offer.

Bow is looking for a family that will show her the love, patience, and stability she's always deserved. She has firm ideas on her boundaries and clearly expresses her feelings if you ask for too much from her. We think a home without kids would be the best fit at this time as she has been through so much and seems uncomfortable with excessive handling.

After everything she's survived, it's finally Bow's turn to know what it feels like to be cherished. Could you be the one to give her the happy ending she's been waiting for?

This pet is available for adoption on 6.26.26 at the Yakima Humane Society adoption center. If you recognize this animal please contact the adoption center at 509-457-6854.

Did you know YHS offers a "Play Date" program?
Whether you are interested in adopting or just want to hang out with a furry friend, it's a fun way to spend an hour, an afternoon or even a couple days.
