I'm Buoy!

I am a sweet boy on the smaller side that craves love and attention. I am a bit shy, so will need someone who understands that I need some time to trust. I love my stuffy toys, and can play respectfully for hours with fur friends. I am hoping for a confident fur buddy close to my size who knows the ropes and routines. I'm positive that this will help bring out my best behaviors. I am not phased by a fur friend being the boss and leading me in the right direction. I will probably do best if my new family has older or no kids, and a more calm and stable environment.

My brother, sister and I were found in a trash compactor earlier this year outside of a grocery outlet store. Store employees witnessed us being tossed into the trash compactor on their CCTV footage and quickly rushed to our rescue.

This traumatic experience resulted in us landing in the shelter, where we received shots, were neutered, and learned some basic socialization with people and other dogs. I have been in a foster home briefly with another dog, and had a positive experience. Volunteers realized that I feel more secure when I have a companion canine to reassure me when around people. Loud noises or yelling cause me to be fearful.

I love cats, and other dogs. Due to my ordeal, I am a bit wary of men and new people. I will be best suited for someone with patience to give me the time and love I need to adjust.
