Bouffant's Story

Bouffant
Pitbull
Female
42lb.
2yo
Kids. Dogs.

NANNY DOG AT YOUR OF YOUR OWN HEART!

She came back to Chicago Animal Care & Control after being adopted on an adoption day, and there is a particular kind of heartbreak in that return. Not loud, not dramatic. Just quiet confusion. The kind that sits in a dog’s body when what was supposed to be “forever” suddenly isn’t.The human child was allergic.

We saw her perfection of self, her joy in the simplicity of kindness, and her ability off leash with other dogs. We fell in love.

Bouffant didn’t need to be the loudest. She didn’t need to compete. She simply was. Present. Social. Balanced. The kind of dog who reads the room and meets it where it’s at. She offered play without pressure, space without distance, and connection without demand. Watching her in that environment felt like seeing the real version of her for the first time.

Today, Bouffant is decompressing in a foster home where she’s finally able to exhale. You can see it happen in real time. The softening. The trust building. The personality coming through in layers, thoughtful, kind, a little quirky, and deeply connected once she feels safe.

She’s the kind of dog who won’t overwhelm you. She will learn you. She will watch, adjust, and then slowly but surely choose you

Bouffant would thrive in a home that appreciates emotional intelligence in a dog, one that understands that some of the best companions aren’t the loudest or the flashiest, but the ones who meet you quietly and stay.

She does beautifully with other dogs and would enjoy a canine companion, where she can be boss.

She is a dog with depth.

Definition of a nanny dog to human spawn.

She will be everything to her family.

Mcprescue.org

1) When can I meet this dog?
MCP receives a high volume of inquiries.
