Bosco's Story

Bosco just started a new training journey on July 12, 2026, and will be ready in August for a dedicated owner excited to maintain his extra off leash skills.

My name is Bosco! I weigh around 72 pounds, which is a big improvement over the measly 44 pounds I weighed when I came into the rescue. I am about 7 years old, fully house broken, crate trained, neutered, current on my shots, great with kids, have lived with cats in my past life, and Im being fostered in Spokane, WA, where I have many dog friends.

In addition to being handsome, silly, affectionate, and sensitive, I enjoy treats, couch cuddles, playing ball in the yard and going for car rides.

I love people any and all people! Adults, teenagers, toddlers, I am happy to be around any of them. No matter what my people are doing, I like to follow them around or check in on them. Ill even help clean up the crumbs from dinner and then snuggle on the couch with soft blankies. Once Im super comfortable though, I may wander off to another room and just chill by myself and take a little nap, or maybe play with a toy for a few minutes.

My ideal owner would be one who has experience with the Boxer breed and also one who can maintain the structure I prefer. I can be a little bit stubborn at times and anxious, but in training I learned several super handy commands such as heel to walk politely by your side, place - my go settle down command - and out in case you want me to drop/leave or ignore something. Im a pretty smart guy and when you add all of these professional skills to my other commands such as sit, down and shake, Im a real catch.

In my forever home I will need consistency to prevent my old insecurities from coming up, but my foster mom is a great trainer and will show you exactly how to follow through. I have lived with many dogs, and going to a home with a dog buddy is not out of the question, but I do need slow introductions and social advocacy with dogs in order to feel safe. A housemate dog for me should be a female dog, or a submissive male.

Im such a good boy at bedtime and can sleep on my cushy dog bed on the floor at the foot of the bed, or in my kennel. I am a really good pup who has a lot of love to give, and I promise to make your face and your heart smile every day.

Apply today www.mustluvboxersrescue.com/adopt.

MustLuvBoxers Rescue's Adoption Policy
Locations we serve: We are currently accepting applications from residents in Washington, Oregon and Northern Idaho (close to the WA border), and some areas of Canada. While we serve the majority of these areas, in some cases we cannot find a volunteer to home check certain areas of these states. For that reason, your application may be denied. Same Sex Dogs in a Household: Our rescue does not adopt dogs out to households that already have a dog of the same sex. This is due to increased aggression and dominance issues among same sex dogs. This also applies to dogs who are frequent visitors in your home. In some cases, we allow dogs with a 9+ year age difference to be placed in the same home. Application Types: Below you will be asked to select what type of application you would like to submit. Adoption Application: you are interested in adopting a rescue dog who is in foster care. Foster-to-Adopt Application: you are interested in fostering a dog for a three week period with the intention to adopt. If you decide the dog is not a good fit, you will continue fostering until the dog is adopted out through the standard adoption process. This process requires you to be on Facebook to interact with our support group after your application is processed. Foster Application: you are interested in providing a safe, structured and loving home for a rescue dog until they find their forever home through the adoption process. All supplies and medical expenses will be covered. This process requires you to be on Facebook to interact with our support group after your application is processed. What to Expect When Fostering or Fostering-to-Adopt: There is no perfect dog when fostering. Each dog that comes into foster care has their own unique personalities, many that just need love and care to work through undesirable behaviors. Most of these dogs have never had a safe, secure or loving home like you will be providing them. We will never ask a foster to take a human-aggressive or a dog with extreme behavioral issues. Those dogs go to our seasoned fosters or trainers. Every dog that comes into MLBR will have different quirks or issues; whether it be needing a single dog home, medical, crate and potty training, working through their fears, crate rotation, etc. Crate training a dog is not a punishment. Utilizing a crate in the home creates a safe space for the dog to decompress. Each dog will have different comfort levels, and not all are going to be social, which is okay; it doesn’t mean they’re not adoptable.
