Bosco's Story

Bosco just started a new training journey on July 12, 2026, and will be ready in August for a dedicated owner excited to maintain his extra skills.

My name is Bosco! I weigh around 75 pounds, which is a big improvement over the measly 44 pounds I was when I came into the rescue. Now I need to lose a little weight, but my foster parents are going to help me do that. No one seems to be sure exactly how old I am, but they are guessing I’m between 4 and 6 years old. I am fully house broken, neutered, current on my shots, and I’m being fostered in Spokane, WA.

As you can see, I am stunningly handsome - just look at me! My sole purpose in life is to wiggle my little nub tail, invade your personal space on the couch, chase tennis balls in the yard, have plenty of snacks, and play with an endless supply of squeaky toys!

I love people – any and all people! The more the merrier! Adults, teenagers, toddlers, I am happy to be around any of them. No matter what my people are doing, I like to follow them around or check in on them. I’ll even help clean up the crumbs from dinner and then snuggle on the couch with soft blankies. Once I’m super comfortable though, I’ll wander off to another room and just chill by myself and take a little nap or maybe play with a toy for a few minutes.

My ideal owner would be one who has experience with the Boxer breed and also one who can be a strong leader. I can be a little bit stubborn at times and I’m also very strong. I’m a pretty smart guy though and know the commands sit, lay down, and shake, and I will proudly show you these if I get a cookie. I think it would be great to learn even more, so if you’re up to it, let’s do some training together!

I am crate trained and have no issues at all going into the crate when asked to. If you leave the crate door open, I’ll even go into it and take a nice snooze. But I’m not very fond of being in it when no one is home and I will express my displeasure by whining and even barking a bit. My new foster family is working on this with me though. I think you could call me a “work in progress” when it comes to leaving me at home alone.

In my forever home I will need to be the one and only furry family member. But once you meet me and see how fabulous I am, I can promise that you won’t need another dog around!

Going on walks isn’t really my jam, so as long as there is a back yard for me to romp around in, I’m a happy guy. If walks are important to my forever family though, I’ll need some work on my leash skills, as I’ve not had much experience going out and about due to my concerns about seeing other dogs or animals. If you’re strong and ready to work with me though, then I’ll give it a try!

I love car rides! Especially if you’re taking me somewhere to get a tasty treat! I can ride in a crate or tethered in the back seat; either way I’m just happy to be going somewhere with my people.

I’m such a good boy at bedtime and I easily go to my cushy dog bed on the floor at the foot of my foster mom and dad’s bed and never make a peep once its lights out; and no middle of the night potty breaks!

I am a really good pup who has a lot of love to give, and I promise to make your face and your heart smile every day! So, if you are looking for endless affection and a loyal best friend, I'm your guy!!! Apply today – www.mustluvboxersrescue.com/adopt.

MustLuvBoxers Rescue's Adoption Policy
Locations we serve: We are currently accepting applications from residents in Washington, Oregon and Northern Idaho (close to the WA border), and some areas of Canada. While we serve the majority of these areas, in some cases we cannot find a volunteer to home check certain areas of these states. For that reason, your application may be denied. Same Sex Dogs in a Household: Our rescue does not adopt dogs out to households that already have a dog of the same sex. This is due to increased aggression and dominance issues among same sex dogs. This also applies to dogs who are frequent visitors in your home. In some cases, we allow dogs with a 9+ year age difference to be placed in the same home. Application Types: Below you will be asked to select what type of application you would like to submit. Adoption Application: you are interested in adopting a rescue dog who is in foster care. Foster-to-Adopt Application: you are interested in fostering a dog for a three week period with the intention to adopt. If you decide the dog is not a good fit, you will continue fostering until the dog is adopted out through the standard adoption process. This process requires you to be on Facebook to interact with our support group after your application is processed. Foster Application: you are interested in providing a safe, structured and loving home for a rescue dog until they find their forever home through the adoption process. All supplies and medical expenses will be covered. This process requires you to be on Facebook to interact with our support group after your application is processed. What to Expect When Fostering or Fostering-to-Adopt: There is no perfect dog when fostering. Each dog that comes into foster care has their own unique personalities, many that just need love and care to work through undesirable behaviors. Most of these dogs have never had a safe, secure or loving home like you will be providing them. We will never ask a foster to take a human-aggressive or a dog with extreme behavioral issues. Those dogs go to our seasoned fosters or trainers. Every dog that comes into MLBR will have different quirks or issues; whether it be needing a single dog home, medical, crate and potty training, working through their fears, crate rotation, etc. Crate training a dog is not a punishment. Utilizing a crate in the home creates a safe space for the dog to decompress. Each dog will have different comfort levels, and not all are going to be social, which is okay; it doesn’t mean they’re not adoptable.
