Boris's Story

Boris – 9 months old, neutered male, medium-sized mixed breed (aka a lovable "pibble")

Boris is one of those dogs you don’t forget once you meet him.

He’s goofy, affectionate, and incredibly connected to his person—the kind of dog who will try to climb right into your lap and look at you like you’re his whole world. Once he feels safe, his sweet, silly personality really shines.

Boris loves adventures—long walks, exploring in the woods, car rides—and is just as happy curling up next to you when the day is done. He enjoys toys of all kinds, especially ones he can chew on, and he’s always up for a game of tug or a good run.

He’s also a very smart boy. Boris has had training and knows his basics like sit, down, wait, drop it, and place. He enjoys learning and does well with positive, gentle guidance. He walks nicely on a leash, is kennel trained, house trained, and typically well-mannered in the home.

Boris is a sensitive dog who feels things deeply and pays close attention to the people around him. Because of that, he can be unsure with new people—especially men—and does best with slow, thoughtful introductions where he’s allowed to take things at his own pace. When given that time and space, he has shown us that he is very capable of building trust and making good choices.

Boris didn’t have the easiest start in life, as he was found as a young puppy on his own before being brought north to find a home. Despite that, he continues to show just how much he wants to connect with people and be someone’s companion.

He has lived with other animals and done well, and he may enjoy a respectful dog companion. He may also do well with older, respectful children with a proper meet.

Boris doesn’t need perfection, and he doesn’t need someone to "fix" him.

He needs someone patient, calm, and understanding—someone who will advocate for him and allow him to build trust at his own pace.

If you’re willing to meet him where he is, you’re going to get a dog who gives you everything he has.

And that’s a lot.

Pet adoption sponsorship from Rebecca Majestic & Susan Wood - Boris adoption fee us fully covered.
