Boris Rottweiler Mix Spring Valley, CA

FCIA rescued Boris, a rottweiler mix, from the shelter after his previous owner surrendered him due to his medical needs. He is 5 years old and weighs 82 pounds. He was suffering from chronic fungal and bacterial skin infections that had left him nearly bald, underweight, and with severe ear infections. Despite this, he remained very sweet and loving. After almost a year in our care that included intense and frequent medical tests and treatment, he is finally medically stabilized. He is happy, healthy and his coat is full and lush. Boris will require lifelong medication and routine vet checks. He is now on thyroid meds 2 times a day, iron supplements daily, an autoimmune shot every 10 days, and a special diet that controls his allergies. He remains sweet and loving and very playful with most other dogs . He does tend to guard his yard and person so needs an adopter with Rottweiler experience and one who is prepared to continue his health routine.

As we are currently not having any adoption events, we are asking interested people to please fill out our application at www. FCIAnimals.org and if it looks like a good match, we will arrange an introduction.

We suggest a home with children over the age of 10 for this dog. This dog cannot be adopted out of state. Please see our home page for a list of our Saturday adoption sites. Every potential adopter is required to fill out an adoption application and the dog is placed in the home that would be most suitable for the dog. We do not place our dogs in homes with unfenced swimming pools. Generally we don't release the dogs at the adoption site that day except on occasion to former adopters.
